I tried out Saijutsu for the first time and really enjoyed it. The Kata consists of a combination of Sai combat and defense techniques combined with Taekwondo style movements. The instructors Nathan and Davin were really good at explaining how to position the Sai through each technique and gave possible scenarios where each movement could be used in either an offensive or defensive situation.
I found the if i had difficulty remembering the correct order of the movements, they would change up their instruction style and find a way to help me remember. I appreciated it when we reviewed the entire Kata as a group, and Nathan had each of us students give feedback on what the next step was. It tested our ability to remember without the pressure of remembering everything. I also like how the Sai classes are suitable for almost everyone, regardless of age and fitness level.

My 10 year old son and I enjoy the Saijutsu class. Information is given in bite-size segments, the instructors are knowledgeable and fun. I found the structure to work for everyone in it's tiered learning approach. I would recommend it to anyone interested in traditional weapons or unconventional exercise.
